Federal obligation? I'm sorry Loco, I had you pegged for a tea party-er. I didn't realize you were a socialist. Well that's good, you should have no problem doubling up your tax payments this year to pay for the obligatory clean up.

All right. Explain then Obama's clearly diffident response to the Federal obligation for cleaning up the oil spill. Or is it "someone else's problem"? I guess he's just voting "present".

Arena, I realize it went over your head but the topic of the thread concerned an individual and groups who embrace outlandish explanations for things they don't like. This is followed with a Loco posting which is essentially more of the same. I wasn't even referring to you but I guess you enjoy looking gin the mirror so much, you couldn't fathom I would refer to anyone else. You should give up the bully gig and get a life. "Meaningless" -- that would describe just about every contribution you have ever made here. Sad really.

Mikey, that was my point when I created the screen name -- although I did find myself taking things too seriously for a little while. I wouldn't label you a loon because you don't like me or things I posted. When you begin claiming that Obama took down the world economy so he could later fix it to burnish his legacy, then I might reconsider.

He'll continue to "fundamentally transform this country" Not That Important..your screen name says it all (guess that makes me one of the local loons)

There's a long list.

Volunteers ready but left out of spill cleanup

By TOM BREEN (AP) – 11 hours ago

NEW ORLEANS — BP and the Obama administration face mounting complaints that they are ignoring foreign offers of equipment and making little use of the fishing boats and volunteers available to help clean up what may now be the biggest spill ever in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Coast Guard said there have been 107 offers of help from 44 nations, ranging from technical advice to skimmer boats and booms. But many of those offers are weeks old, and only a small number have been accepted, with the vast majority still under review, according to a list kept by the State Department.

Waiting for approval? Seriously? How much damage could it do? I hope they have the requisite number of life jackets and fire extinguishers.

A ship billed as the world's largest skimming vessel has arrived in the Gulf of Mexico and was awaiting approval to begin cleaning, according to a spokesman for the Taiwanese company that owns it. The A Whale arrived in the Gulf on Wednesday and was anchored in Boothville, Louisiana, about an hour south of New Orleans.

Frank Maisano, a spokesman for ship owner TMT shipping, said it is still awaiting approval to join the effort. Allen said the vessel -- estimated to be able to skim up to 21 million gallons a day -- is awaiting testing. That capacity is at least 250 times the amount that the modified fishing boats currently conducting skimming operations have been able to contain, the company says.

Not offended in the least, but thanks for caring. However, I would caution against casting meaninless aspersions lest you fail to recongnize that you are simply ridiculing the face in the mirror, asking others to laugh along. Sad really.

Through a glass darkly, yet never face to face.

GD,

You might want to be careful, lest you offend a few of the loons who regularly hang out here.

Given the slowness of the Federal cleanup response and Obama's inattention to the matter, I'd be willing to believe that Obama wants the spill to be as bad as possible. Wouldn't want a crisis to go to waste and if you have a crisis, why not make it as bad as possible?

Obama clearly hates corporate America and this is his chance to take a shot at taking over "big oil". Yes, BP is British. He hates them too. Why not make them as big a villain as possible.

Is there a correlation here?

Texas - Rick Perry - R
Louisiana - Piyush "Bobby" Jindal - R
Mississippi - Haley Barbour - R
Alabama - Bob Riley - R
Florida - Charlie Crist - was R, now I

Guess O just has to remind everyone who his friends are and who they aren't.

Go with the liberal. At least they're predictable. The only reason Randall won is that he was running against perhaps the most annoying person I've ever had the misfortune to meet.
