What I did …
on my summer vacation, as reported by my inner child:
I went to the lake. It was fun. There was a boat there that went real fast. It had a rope tied to it. The boat pulled me around the lake. I fell down one time. It was fun. I made a new friend at the lake. His name is Will. He’s four years old and he knows lots of jokes. Here is a joke from Will:
What does an owl drink?
Hoot beer!
Get it? Will is very funny. He told me another joke about what you get if you cross a parrot with a tiger. Will said he didn’t know exactly, but that I’d better listen when it talked. I don’t get that joke. But other people laughed real loud. It was fun.
I also went to the beach. It was at Bald Head Island. There are no cars there. We drove around in a golf cart. I am a good driver. I can go real fast. I wanted to race but nobody would. I did something bad. I lost the key to the house. I said a bird stole it, but nobody believed me. A nice police lady rescued us. She said somebody found the key and gave it to her. I told her about the bird. She didn’t believe me either. I was sad. I don’t like birds now. The houses there were very nice. I want to live there. I asked how much a house cost. It was a lot. But I’m going to save my allowance. I’ll have to save for leventy hundred years. But then I can buy a house on Bald Head. I won’t let birds come there. This is my vacation report. I had fun.
